Aid cover 100% of registration fees in municipal facilities and workshops of civic centers
In order to encourage people who are unemployed because of the current economic situation, the City is promoting a measure, proposed by the ERC municipal group in plenary on 27 March, to subsidize the activities in community centers and sports facilities to these people.
"The goal, what we want, is to prevent unemployed people to stay home," says the deputy mayor for economic promotion, Jordi William Carnes. "This is to avoid the isolation of people who become unemployed and can be down from the society," added the president of the municipal group of ERC, Jordi Portabella.
It is expected that between 8,000 and 9,000 people unemployed in the city apply for this grant.
What is subsidized?
These measures, which have an initial budget of 100,000 euros, will cover 100% of monthly subscription fees and the use of sports facilities and 100% of registration fees in the workshops civic centers.
The grants will be used to participate in the activities of 51 community centers and 42 sports facilities and cover the average share of 39 euros per month for a sports facility or the cost of a workshop, between 15 and 50 euros.
However, in order to properly manage the resources of the City Council, grants do not cover the registration to more than one computer or two workshops simultaneously.

Who can apply?

How to apply?
Individuals wishing to access these grants must complete an instance, which can be found in bcn.cat and the Citizens Advice Bureaux, and submit to the General Registry Office of the City or in the offices of General Register of districts, from the day following the call at the BOP, scheduled for September.
In case you want to access the two grants, one for workshops and one for the sports facility, an application must be submitted for each.
This application must be accompanied by a document to be ordered on the computer where you want to perform the activity and a certificate of working life with a minimum period of three years.
